Workshop: Technology, Media, and Child Development

The internet and modern technology make media exposure almost unavoidable even for young children. While technology can provide education and entertainment, it can also impact children in a less positive way. As parents and caregivers, how do we find that right balance of what to offer our children and when? With the holidays approaching, it can be especially difficult to navigate the requests for phones and devices and the pressure from relatives and friends to give and receive devices as gifts for children.

This will be a judgement free discussion with other parents, education professionals, and young people, where we will share current research and recommendations on developmentally appropriate practices for each age group – toddlers, preschool, elementary, and beyond. Bring your questions and concerns.

What: Workshop: Technology, Media, and Child Development
When: Thursday, November 9th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Where: Jacksonville Campus,  1872 Trumansburg Rd
